  • Ujamaa Hostel (http://www.ujamaahostel.com/): The Ujamaa Hostel is a hostel in Arusha for travellers and volunteers. Many of our short-term volunteers are from the hostel. Additionally, Ujamaa sponsors one of our students who is currently in secondary school.

  • Mkombozi (http://www.mkombozi.org/): Mkombozi is a child agency who recommends students for Umoja and also acts as the guardian for the students we accept through their recommendation.

  • The Juilliard School (http://www.juilliard.edu/): Students from the renowned performing arts school in New York, USA ran performing arts
  • Students from The Juilliard School (http://www.juilliard.edu/): Students from the renowned performing arts school in New York, under the auspices of the Arusha Arts Initiative, have run an annual two-week performing arts workshop since 2009. Umoja students learn dance, drama, music and singing. The workshop culminates in a fundraising concert showcasing the talents of both Juilliard and Umoja students. the Juilliard students and their families also raise much needed funds for The Umoja Centre.
  • Book Cycle (http://www.book-cycle.org/): Book Cycle are a UK-based charity providing free books for developing countries. They have kindly donated books to the Umoja Centre library.

The Umoja Centre is always looking for skilled volunteers. If you have a skill to share please contact us to discuss how and when you can help.

At the moment we are particularly keen to hear from teachers of English or Computer Skills, there is also plenty of work to do in the office.

There are Umoja charities registered in the UK and Australia who are committed to raising funds for the Umoja Centre.
